According to the IIE Summit on Generation Study Abroad in Washington, DC, short-term programmes assist in strengthening collaborative skills and cultural sensitivity. Intercultural skills, curiosity, flexibility & adaptability, confidence, and self-awareness topped the list. Over 70% of respondents felt study abroad improved these skills. Over 50% reported on improved interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Employers believe that studying abroad helps improve skills needed for today's workforce.
Our programmes at The Sparsh Global Business School incorporates world-class global exposure through the five phase structure that every student undergoes. These are:
- A compulsory international study tour to our partner University:SGBS mandates a 2 week global study tour and exposes each student to the functioning of leading global corporations and institutions. In today's world, no organisation can function in isolation and therefore, understanding and meeting global norms has become the key to success. Developing and sustaining global understanding and relationships are key attributes required of all business leaders.
- Compulsory exposure to the classes/seminars of international faculty members of partner B-Schools:SGBS aggressively focuses on bringing a global outlook in the classroom. SGBS actively invites global faculty to take sessions with our students in their area of expertise and conduct MDP's with the corporates. This helps students understand any topic from a global perspective and helps them provide solutions, expanding their horizon of thought.
- International Pathway Programs:SGBS encourages its UG students to complete their graduation in the partner universities, owing to the pathway agreements signed. This lends huge exposure to students in experiencing global culture and academics first hand.
- International Virtual Project based experiential learningEngaging in virtual project-based experiential learning with participants from different countries have given students an understanding of multi-market mechanism, virtual team work, complexities of working across time zones and working and collaborating with teams with different cultural orientation.
The projects require students to draw upon their knowledge of business management e.g. communications, presentations, negotiations, leadership etc., all of which are needed to manage global business, operations management, information systems, marketing, and accounting & finance.
The primary objective in such projects is to solve a real problem faced by international organisations.
- International research engagementThe students at SGBS are also encouraged to be a part of secondary research assignments of international faculties.
